Winged by LM Pruitt‏

L.M. Pruitt has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. A native of Florida with a love of New Orleans, she has the uncanny ability to find humor in most things and would probably kill a plastic plant. She knows this because she's killed bamboo. Twice. As a result, she's not allowed to walk in the gardening department of any store without supervision. She's also not allowed in the card aisle of any grocery store without an escort since she'll spend thirty minutes opening cards and laughing for no good reason. She is the author of the best-selling Jude Magdalyn series, the Moon Rising series, and the Frankie Post series. She continues to make her home in Florida in spite of the heat and mosquitos and shares her home with two cats--one of them smart, the other not so much.

I fell from the Talmadge Bridge the week before I turned thirty.

I was given a choice: Go to Heaven. Go back to my life in Savannah. Or spend eternity fighting evil under the direction of the archangels.

I chose the demons--and the angels.

I chose the Winged.
Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Quite a few things. The basic idea—a woman who fights demons and falls in love with angels—was something I kicked around for a while before adding in the other elements. I got to play with history, research, military technique, romance—pretty much all my favorite things.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
This is hard to determine because at first it was just a pet project. I promised myself I’d get around to it when I finished the other series I was working on. But eventually the story for Winged took all my focus and that’s when I shifted all my attention to it. The second book in the series, Uprising, took me about two and a half months, give or take. I’m hoping to finish the third, Lost, in about five weeks.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Research. I love digging up history and learning new things and then imparting that knowledge in a fun way.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Editing. Formatting runs a close second, but editing will always be the bane of my existence.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I have no idea, lol. Maybe Molly Brown, from the Titanic? She always seemed like a lot of fun and she got to witness one of the biggest historical events in the last two centuries.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
If we’re talking actual meal, I have some homemade soup that’s about three weeks old. If we’re talking anything, it’s probably some type of condiment—and I have no idea how old it is, lol.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
The second book in the series, UPRISING, releases on April 9 and the third book, LOST, comes out June 11.
